Senshi (先師) of the North American Hombu Dōjō

Kaoru Sugiyama Sensei held the rank of 5th dan black belt under the International Yōseikan Budō Federation. She taught Aikidō at the North American Hombu Dōjō in California, where she was known for her precision, warmth, and deep commitment to the principles of Budō.

Her teaching continues to inspire students and instructors across the Yōseikan Budō community, and her legacy remains a guiding presence within the Hombu Dōjō and beyond.
