Bernard Monast Sensei, 3rd dan Bernard Monast Sensei has the IYBF rank of black belt, 3rd dan. He began the study of Aikido in January 1978 at the University of Ottawa under the tutelage of Patrick Augé Sensei and Kaoru Sugiyama Sensei. Since then, he has regularly participated to many seminars in Canada as well as in the United States. Since September 1989, he has been teaching in Granby where he also opened in September 1991 the Yoseikan Aikido School of Granby. The actual location of the dojo was formalized in August 2007. As well as being an Aikido teacher, Bernard Monast Sensei is a certified teacher in Karate recognized by the National Karate Association (NKA). He has been actively training in Karate Shotokan (JKA) since June 1981 and holds the rank of black belt, 3rd dan, in Shotokan Karate. He also has two certifications (levels I and II) from the National Program in Trainer Certification. Bernard Monast Sensei is well known by his peers for his determination, his perseverance, his tenacity and his respect of traditional values, as much in the martial arts as in his personal life. |
